Mumbai, July 13 : As Jihadi terror struck once again, Mumbai responded the organized attacks in equally organized fashion. It was a gory seen at the bomb blast sites. Nearby hospitals were full of the victims. But, anger in mind, Mumbai citizens were quick in their response to help the victims & maintained the law & order situation. The Mumbaikars have shown their courage once again showing firm determination against the JIhadi Terror imported from across the border.
Girgaon residents Nilesh alias Bala Ahirekar, a Shivsena activist, was very quick to respond the terror attacks with Shiv Sena Ambulance & a brigade of volunteers. Their Ambulances ferrying the victims from the Opera House bomb blast site to the nearby hospitals, Ahirekar along with senior Shivsena office bearer Pandurang Sankpal & Ganesh Sanap anchored themselves at various hospitals leading the help efforts. They were backed by Santosh Shinde, Jayavant Naik, Vikram Dhotre, Prashant Shelar, Ketan Madan and other fellow Shivsainiks. Ahirekar was seen busy leading the help efforts at GT hospital until very late night.
In Zaveri Bazar, local BJP corporator led the rescue efforts, helping police move the victims to nearby hospitals. The BJP activists Nitin Gawande, Maruti Lotale, Amit Khule, Subhash Kalugade were seen helping at the blast site. Local Shivsena activist Santosh Shinde made available his Amulance to ferry the victims to Hospitals.
The political elites were seen too visiting the blast spots & the hospitals. They include Home Minister R.R. Patil, Leader of Opposition in the assembly Eknath Khadse, Mumbai’s Mayor Shraddha Jadhav, Maharashtra BJP president Sudhir Mungantiwar, Gen. Secretary Vinod Tawde, NCP’s Sachin Ahir etc.
When the CM Prithviraj Chavan, visited the GT hospital, the angry crowd of the relatives there actually hooted him out. The chief Minister had to leave the Hospital premises within only a few minutes.
Controversial Abu Asim Azami, along with the DIG Naval Bajaj also had to face the anger of the people. As people accused Azami for being hand-in-glove with the Jihadi Terrorists, the Bajaj had to bare the brunt , as the relatives of the victims raised slogans damning the police’s failure to protect the common man.
After the blasts, as usual, the RSS people were quick to reach the spots to help, it is learnt. They were also seen helping at GT hospital, JJ hospital & KEM. Though the swayamsevaks in uniform were less, they were the first lot who worked in organized manner. The uniformed swayamsevaks were backed by non-uniformed swayamsevaks along with ABVP, VHP & other Sangh Parivar organizations, it is learnt. When this correspondent spoke about the help efforts to some of the citizens present at the hospitals, many of them expressed that they have more expectations from RSS. The few of the staff & a police officer said that the group lacks in proper training. RSS swayamsekas deny the charge.
Dinesh Rajput led a group of volunteers in the GT hospital.
